A Big Welcome to the 2014 Hoka Highland Fling!

The Hoka Highland Fling Ultramarathon is a 53 mile trail race along the famous West Highland Way Trail, starting in Milngavie (close to Glasgow) and finishing in the scenic Highland village of Tyndrum. The route is almost entirely on trails with mixed terrain and the scenery stunning.  The day finishes with free beer & homemade soup, followed by a traditional Scottish Ceilidh Party in Tyndrum.

The “Fling Experience” includes:

•    A 53 mile trail run through the scenic Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park to the Scottish Highland village of Tyndrum

•    Free post race beer, hot soup & massage

•    Goodie bag (including bottle of sparking wine, medal, Falke running socks & more)

•    Free technical T-shirt

•    Post-race Traditional Scottish Ceilidh in Tyndrum (£5 extra)

Entry is £30 / £32 (without Scottish Athletics Membership)

The Event is designed to be run unsupported so no vehicle/personnel support is required. Please DO NOT bring car backup due to traffic congestion problems and the fact that much of the route is inaccessible by car. Drop bags are transported to various points in the race by the organisers.  Buses may be booked at the time of entry for return to Glasgow.

IF YOU REALLY MUST BRING VEHICLE SUPPORT PLEASE PAY THE £10 VEHICLE FEE WHEN ENTERING. (This fee goes towards our increasing traffic management costs, which are required to minimise the congestion caused of event vehicles, and thus help to ensure the longevity of the event).  We suggest that if you want to bring support, ask them to be part of the “Fling Race Day Team” and be an integral part of the event.
